Acceptance Criteria for Helical Foundation Systems and Devices - #ESR 3032

UPDATE:
We have passed a major milestone with the award of ESR3032 by the ICC-ES for the AC358 Acceptance Criteria for Helical Foundation Systems and Devices.
 
The AC358 Evaluation  covers the complete line of 1-1/2" & 1-3/4" RCS and 2-7/8" &   3-1/2" pipe pile helical foundations systems. 
 
MacLeanCivil is the only manufacturer to have the complete line of 1-1/2" & 1-3/4" RCS and 2-7/8"  & 3-1/2" pipe pile helical foundations systems evaluated by the ICC-ES.
 
 
The ICC AC358 Acceptance Criteria for Helical Foundation Systems and Devices is a standard to test and validate the performance of a manufacturer’s helical piles for residential and commercial building construction.  The ICC AC358 replaces the ICC-ES Legacy Report for helical piles.
 
The testing is rigorous covering many aspects of helical pile capacity.  MacLeanCivil used an ICC accredited laboratory to conduct the laboratory and field testing in accordance to the standard.
 
ICC AC358 Acceptance Criteria for Helical Foundation Systems and Devices tests requires a variety of tests:
 
o   Full scale Compression Load Test in sand and clay
o   Full scale Tension Load Test in sand and clay
o   Full scale Lateral Load Test
o   Shaft Torsion
o   Helix Torsion
o   Coupling Rigidity
o   Helix Capacity
 
The testing to ICC-ES AC358 must be by an IAS accredited lab.  And requires an ongoing quality control program per AC10 with inspections by an IAS accredited inspection agency per AC98.
 
A helical pile system may not meet the expected performance unless it has been certified by ICC-ES.
